The end of the year in Kenya is all about the holiday season. Families are fattening their farm animals for the feasts. Parents are saving up for Christmas gifts, and children are eagerly waiting to unwrap their presents. The festive spirit is in the air.
However, in Vihiga County, the holiday excitement feels a bit muted. Parents are facing a tough choice: buy presents for their eager children, or save up for school supplies in January.
At Phakama 254 Foundation, we’ve decided to ease that burden. We’re organizing a Back-to-School Drive this December, aiming to collect school supplies and gift them to the children. Our hope is simple: to make sure kids in the county enjoy both Christmas presents and have everything they need for a comfortable return to school.
Thanks to our generous donors, we successfully completed a book donation earlier this year. With that achievement behind us, we’re confident this drive will be just as successful.
If you’d like to support the Back-to-School Drive, here’s how you can help:
- Donate school supplies (books, pens, erasers, etc.)
- Contribute financially to help purchase supplies
- Adopt a Scholar to sponsor him/her
Let’s work together to ensure every child has a joyous holiday and a smooth start to the school year. Here’s to happy holidays for all!
